This Year’s Urban Angel Bedroom Makeover Recipient

Our 2026 Urban Angel Bedroom Makeover has officially been revealed and Nicholas loved it.

This year’s recipient, Nicholas Toniolo, is a 14-year-old Windsor-Essex teen preparing for major scoliosis surgery. With recovery ahead, our goal was to create a bedroom that felt comfortable, personal, mature, and supportive. A space where Nicholas could rest, heal, play video games, watch TV, spend time with friends, and feel completely at home.

This project is exactly why Urban Angel exists: to use design as a way to bring comfort, joy, dignity, and hope to kids and families in our community.

As Seen on AM800

We were honoured to have AM800 attend Nicholas’ bedroom reveal and share his story with the Windsor-Essex community.

Nicholas shared that being chosen made him feel happy and grateful, and that his new room will help him feel more comfortable, independent, and welcome as he prepares for surgery and recovery.

Urban Angel Bedroom Makeover

At Urbanhome, we have always believed in the power of design to inspire and uplift lives. Our Urban Angel initiative was born from this belief, bringing moments of joy and transformation to children and families in Windsor who need it most.

What is Urban Angel?

Urban Angel (a nonprofit organization) is a heartfelt, community-focused program dedicated to improving lives through thoughtful design. We partner with local businesses, volunteers, and families to create beautiful, comforting, and personalized spaces for children facing challenges.

Whether it’s transforming bedrooms into dream escapes or designing sensory-friendly spaces, Urban Angel projects always aims to support emotional well-being and offer hope.

Urban Angel was started in honour and memory of Mikaela Scurto (February 26, 1995 – September 12, 2013).
